I’ll be using multiple coats of Minwax wipe-on poly, sanding with grit paper in between coats. You can tell it’s a replacement because the squares on the foam are not evenly centered in the grill.
Maybe I can sell them as is on ebay.
I did hesitate, for about five minutes, because there are some split seams and worn finish on the “bottoms” of the cabinets where the controls are which is the side I would put “up” to keep the mid and tweet higher. Boomy bass, ‘forward’ midrange.

I then control my sound with an EQ. I’ve had Advents and ‘s, which have a better, modern tweeter vs the It has a very warm, pleasant natural sound and is sim Mids and tweets from the L’s. Definately a candidate for my own Klipsch Khorn project when that day comes.
I’m not sure if anything else is wrong with them. Not so good for other stuff, say, a nocturne for piano, or Dylan when he’s not playing it fucking loud. I sprayed water on the wood and then weighted them down over a piece of wood. One of the shortcomings of the L line was the small spring-loaded binding posts. L’s with the moldings and new grill frames that will inset jbk the space made by the moldings.

Also shop in Also shop in. One cabinets has little corner scuff and there is a faint ring on the top of the the other one. I was not able to find replacement foam grills, so I’ll be installing cane grill cloth. One of the woofers has staining on it.
I made black grills for them so the new owner would have a choice of grills. The L tweeter foams will be 431. Close serial numbers I still have the Perched atop the A Here’s the “before” shot!
